Picked approximately 30 cherry and 10 silver-dollar-sized yellow tomatoes and made a tomato salad with them (and basil from our plants as well)

Green onions

About May 1st, I replanted the roots of cut green onions as an experiment. I also replanted other vegetables (carrots, onion for sure). The only plant that did well were the green onions, reproducing greens again in about seven weeks. They were in a relatively shady location. Harvested on June 21st, replanted in herb bed with additional green onion roots on June 21. Next time, cut the greens leaving the roots in place in the ground to regrow.

Watering schedule as of June 21

Water timers, as of Jun 21 are as follows: butterfly garden and raised beds in back yard: start at 5:00, for 10 minutes, every 12 hours sidewalk flower beds and bed just west of flower beds (sunflowers, dahlias and garlic): soaker hose, start at 5:40 for 20 minutes, every 12 hours. tomatoes, peppers, marigolds and potted saffron: sprinkler, 6:00 for 15 minutes, every two day Mailbox plants, all potted plants on porch and deck, watered manually each morning

Blackberries!

Yesterday (July 5th) we picked the first blackberries of the season (1 cup). Made a blackberry crisp. Today, picked blackberries for a fruit salad. Also about 1 cup.
